VideoTag
for Android
VideoTag is not on Google Play yet. Until it is, the app is installed from the file below.
Installing it
- Download the file above, then open it.
- Android will say the app you are installing from is not allowed to install apps. Tap Settings, turn the switch on, and come back. Once only.
- Tap Install.
A warning will appear, and it is expected. Play Protect flags anything that did not come from the Play Store. Tap More details, then Install anyway.
Had an earlier test build? Uninstall it first. This one is signed differently, and Android will refuse to install over the old one.
First run
Open VideoTag and connect YouTube or Google Drive. Videos are saved to that account. There is no VideoTag account to make, and no server of ours in the middle — see the Privacy Policy.
Known, on Android
- Videos are not titled automatically. On iPhone the app writes a title from what was said in the video; that runs on the phone itself and is not built for Android yet. Videos arrive untitled and can be renamed by hand.
- This is a test build, so expect rough edges. Tell me about them: relaxed.possums_0z@icloud.com.
